Anyone who has lost one or more teeth usually wants them replaced as quickly as possible so that they can carry on with their normal life.
Dentures are removable dental appliances used to replace missing teeth and surrounding tissue. They're custom-made to fit comfortably in your mouth and to resemble your natural teeth as closely as possible. Dentures may help prevent problems with eating and speech. If you need complete dentures, they may also improve the appearance of your smile and give you confidence. Dentures can be a practical solution for individuals who have lost some or all of their teeth due to factors such as decay, gum disease, injury, or aging. Nowadays, dentures are designed to be comfortable, and light weight.
There are two main types of dentures
1. Complete Dentures: These are used when all teeth are missing in either the upper or lower jaw, or both. Complete dentures consist of a flesh-colored acrylic base that fits over the gums. The base supports a full set of artificial teeth, which are made from materials like porcelain or acrylic. Complete dentures rely on suction, saliva, and sometimes dental adhesives to stay in place.
2. Partial Dentures: Partial dentures are used when some natural teeth remain in the mouth. They consist of replacement teeth attached to a metal or acrylic base that matches the color of your gums. Partial dentures are secured in place using metal clasps that attach to neighboring natural teeth
